Ottawa celebrity and former CTV News anchor Max Keeping announced Tuesday he will battle cancer for a second time.

In an interview with CTV News, Keeping said he has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and will undergo major surgery on Monday which will result in the removal of his rectum, anus, prostate and bladder.

The surgery is expected to keep him off his feet for six months.

In 2003, Keeping was diagnosed with prostate cancer and has since made a full recovery.
